When we talk about "living the whole life" at RedwoodAge, we're talking about striking a balance between the physical, intellectual and spiritual sides of life. Few of us attain a perfect balance, but it's something we can all aim for. And, once in a while, we find someone who got there ahead of us. We humbly submit Barbara Morgan as a prime example. About 22 years ago, the Idaho-based teacher applied to be the first teacher to fly in space aboard the space shuttle. She came in second. Christa McAuliffe won and, sadly, died when the Challenger blew up in 1986 shortly after liftoff. Now Ms. Morgan's turn has come. She is 55, and looks half her age. She is still a teacher, building the minds of the next generation. And she exhibits a spirit that we can all emulate: one based on patience and persistence and poise. She is also very brave. There are many ways to live the whole life. Tell me your story and I'll try to share it with our readers.
